My casemods
Casemod 1 2001 - RAG Case
My first mod, this was the first time I came to the idea of letting the CPU get fresh cool air for cooling, instead of letting the air first warm up when it passes all other heat components. I constructed a duct which sucked the fresh cool air from the front of the case and with a adapter mounted it to the Dragon Orb Cooler. A 12 cm ultra-low-noise papst was mounted on top to help get the heated air out. The clan name RAG was dremeled out of the sidepanel.
| Casemod 2 2001 - Piloten Koffer
Going to LANparties was becoming a lifestyle, so my case needed to be easy to drag along. I wanted a slightly different suitcase mod as the rest allready has been done before. So I came up with a pilot-case, where the lid comes open from the top in two parts. Had to build the power-supply in without its case, or it wouldnt fit. CPU air duct used again Power on by key switch.
| Casemod 3 2001 - Cube
Total new design, half a case of 10 mm plexiglas, other half of 3 mm hard-aluminium. You'll notice the infamous air duct again ? Stealthed DVD drive, Key switch. Lots of space in the cube, but soooo heavy. Not my best LAN case.
| Casemod 4 2002 - Gamma Koffer
Cheap-ass suitcase mod. Replaced half of suitcase with plexiglass panels and ofc a CPU air duct on a Taisol heatpipe cooler. Key switch.
| Casemod 5 2003 - Plexie Koffer
Made from 8 mm plexiglass, i manufactered a suitcase large enough for all components, and still have breathing space. My little mascotte is a action figure from Quake and in her BFG I mounted the harddrive LED. Keyswitch ofc. I modded the Taisol heatpipe cooler and made a virtual airduct which worked very well.
| Casemod 6 2004 - Blacktower
Made from old scrap parts and leftovers. Cut away as much as possible from an existing case and replaced the top, front and side with 4 mm plexiglas.
| Casemod 7 2004 - Stealthtower
This is actually the Black-Tower, but redisigned in a new mod; where in the Black Tower, you could see all the parts, this Steel Tower shows nothing. zilch. nada. No stealthed drives, no power switches or even a LED. Top, front and sidepanel from 1,5 mm Stainless steel. Power supply modded to the front of the case, DVD rom modded to the back, switches and leds all to the back.Inlet and out lets also to the back. Yes, a CPU air duct is in place
| Casemod 8 2005 - Dragons Lair (Castle Epia) Made this case from molding plaster bricks and glueing them together into a small castle. This case holds a Via Epia Nano ITX mainboard, which is the smallest board i've seen so far. The harddrive high-power laser LED is extended and comes out the dragon's mouth. A small coolermaster fan is cooling the board and uses the staircase as a chimney.
